Renowned systems thinker and naturalist, Gregory Bateson, observed that the major problems of the modern world are a result of the difference between the way nature works and how people think. Matt Kolan spent the last year on sabbatical, exploring practices that might help us to close that gap and bring our lives more fully into alignment with the wisdom of nature. Traveling across the country, he and his partner interviewed over fifty visionary leaders from a wide range of fields and sectors (including artists, musicians, community organizers, spiritual leaders/practitioners, and more) who are exploring unique and different ways of creating conditions for life to thrive. Matt will share some of the stories, insights, and practices that came from this listening tour, as well as some of his own experiences engaging with these themes.
