Grieving the Loss of a Loved One
Grieving the Loss of a Loved One is for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. We are a friendly, caring group to help you deal with grief and move toward rebuilding your life.
We meet the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month 10:00am - 11:30am at All Souls — in person only.
If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before.
You are welcome to begin attending the Grieving the Loss of a Loved One group at any session. Each is “self-contained,” so you do not have to attend in sequence. You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin. There is no charge to attend Grieving the Loss of a Loved One. A donation basket is available to help offset the costs of providing space, utilities, and cleaning for the group.
The leadership team of this group consists of people who understand how you feel and have a real concern for individuals experiencing the grief of loss. Your leaders are:
— Dr. Pam Blair is a retired holistically trained psychotherapist, interfaith minister, life coach, and motivational speaker with a Ph.D. from the American Institute of Holistic Theology. Pam has appeared in magazines, hundreds of shows and radio programs including ABC World News, CNN Headline News, and filmed for a television special entitled “Widowsville”. She is the co-author of the best-selling, award-winning book on sudden loss and grief titled, I Wasn't Ready to Say Goodbye. She is also the coauthor of The Long Grief Journey. — K. At present, K. is a 4th year PhD Clinical Psychology student at Saybrook University with a specialization in Mind Body Medicine. K. is also a 2023 graduate of the ASIG Spiritual Direction School and holds many holistic and clinical certifications.
We understand that there are other losses in life that create feelings of grief. You might be experiencing a job loss, a divorce, estrangement from a child, or the loss of friends because of a move. This grief is real, but it is not the kind of grief discussed in Grieving the Loss of a Loved One sessions. We encourage you to ask the All Souls Lead Pastor or a counselor for help in finding resources that will be of specific help in your situation.
